Pourable, condensation-curing, two-component silicone rubber that vulcanizes at room temperature.
- Very good flowability and self-deaeration
- Medium Shore A hardness (approx. 37)
- Very good resistance to common casting resins
General-purpose moldmaking material suitable for casting resins, wax, gypsum and others.
Silicone 4440 is preferred when no or only minor undercuts are involved and a certain inherent stability of the mold is required.
If epoxy resin is used as replication material R&G priming wax should be used as barrier coat
Mixing ratio:
100 : 2 parts by weight Silicon 4440 : Catalyst 40
Potlife: ca. 50 minutes
Curing time (tack-free): ca. 6–7 hours
Silicone 4440 has a shelf life of at least 12 months when stored between 5 °C and 30 °C in the tightly closed original container.
Customer information
Small quantities, up to 25 kg, are specially bottled and are offered as R&G-brand.
25 kg and bigger are sold in original container with original label from Wacker ELASTOSIL®-Silicone.
